Construction season ramping up in west Lethbridge

Repairs to a pedestrian ramp will impact motorists and pedestrians on University Drive West.

The ramp, at the southeast corner of University Drive and Heritage Boulevard West, will be closed. All pedestrian traffic will be routed back one block, to Heritage Crescent West.

Intermittent single-lane closures will also be in effect on University Drive. Northbound and southbound vehicle traffic will be able to proceed through the intersection at a reduced speed. However, there will be no access to eastbound Heritage Boulevard West from University Drive or Garry Drive West.

The pedestrian tunnel underneath University Drive is not affected.

This work will begin Monday, May 12 and is expected to take three weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully and follow all posted signage to keep crews, pedestrians and other vehicles safe.
