- Lethbridge City Council voted 7-2 in favour of an Official Business Motion co-sponsored by Councillors Al Beeber, Rajko Dodic and Ryan Parker, along with Mayor Blaine Hyggen, to potentially dissolve its Standing Policy Committee (SPC) Governance Model. Community Issues Committee (CIC) would replace the SPCs. The primary intent is designed to provide focused oversight, policy review and recommendations, along with further transparency and more public participation. The proposed changes will require approval of amendments to the Procedure Bylaw. This item is anticipated to return at the January 20, 2026, City Council meeting. Read the full news release
- Council voted unanimously in favour of an Official Business Motion by Deputy Mayor Jenn Schmidt-Rempel on Professional Development – Police Commission Training Modules
- Council voted unanimously in favour of an Official Business Motion by Mayor Hyggen on Advocacy Regarding Provincial Funding for Dialysis Patient Transportation
- Bylaw 6510 – 2026 Incentive for Prepayments, Penalties, and Tax Deferral Bylaw carried second and third reading. More information here
- Bylaw 6508 - Repeal and Replacement of Bylaw 6049 - the Municipal Naming and Addressing Bylaw was defeated at second reading

- First reading to Bylaw 6513 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment re: 915 15 Street South. A Public Hearing for this matter is scheduled for January 20, 2026
