- By approving a recommendation From Economic and Finance SPC on Business Development, Expansion, & Retention Incentive Program, Lethbridge City Council is advancing the City’s motto of ‘Gateway to Opportunity’ by taking action to attract investment, support business growth and create jobs. The grant-based program was developed with the input of local industry and informed by recent reporting and data. Read the full news release here
- Mayor Blaine Hyggen and City Manager Lloyd Brierley provide a verbal report and video presentation on the City of Lethbridge’s 2024 Accomplishments. The video can be viewed here
- From an Administration Submission from Darrell Mathews, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, the Low Income Transit Pass (LITP) Grant Funding was approved
- From a recommendation from Governance SPC, Council passed second and third readings to carry Bylaw 6488 - Community Requirements Appeal Board
- A presentation on the Green Acres Foundation 2024 Report to The Community was accepted as information
- With approval of the Consent Agenda, the following items were passed:
- Recommendation From Economic and Finance SPC - Municipal Controlled Corporation Development Update. More background information is available here
- Recommendation From Economic and Finance SPC - Request for Waiver of Property Tax Penalties
- Recommendation From Safety and Social SPC - Lethbridge Police Commission 2025 Annual Plan
- An Official Business Motion from Mayor Hyggen on Membership on Border Mayors Alliance, which was postponed from May 13, was voted to be withdrawn and will not move forward at this time
- From a Closed Meeting Report, Council voted to accept Option 2 from the recommendation of Economic and Finance SPC regarding City Hall and Council Chamber Security Recommendations
