Governance SPC submission CC-80 Decorative Crosswalks was approved and will be reviewed after the City of Edmonton Crosswalk Study is completed or the end of Q1 2026, whichever comes first.
After the approval of CC-80, City Council approved the November 12, 2024 Motion from Mayor Hyggen and Councillor Parker to direct Administration to develop and install a decorative crosswalk on 4 Avenue South, adjacent to the Cenotaph, for Remembrance Day 2025. Consultation will be done with the Legion, and all necessary stakeholders, to ensure the crosswalk design adheres to all regulations and standards. The City of Lethbridge will contribute up to $10,000 from Council Contingencies.
Four Land Use Amendment Bylaws were carried following public hearings:
- Bylaw 6495 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment re: 2910 5 Avenue North
- Bylaw 6496 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment re: 1830 – 1832 15 Ave N and 1803 – 1805 14 Ave N
- Bylaw 6497 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment re: 1403 and 1405 16 Street North
- Bylaw 6500 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment re: The Piers Phase 1 (1220 30 St. W)
An Assets and Infrastructure SPC submission was approved regarding the University of Lethbridge South Campus Lands development. The parcel of land for this future project is removed from the 1993 Donated Land Agreement between the City and University, and will now be subject to property tax and offsite levy requirements.
