Crews extinguish early-morning fire near the Whoop-Up Drive bridge
Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to an early-morning fire at the Whoop-Up Drive Bridge at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2.
Eleven firefighters from two stations responded to the incident. Upon arrival, crews located a fire involving scaffolding and construction materials associated with ongoing bridge work. Falling burning debris also caused several small spot fires on the west side of the Oldman River.
No injuries were reported and there are no current traffic disruptions related to the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
