Early morning vehicle and grass fire contained near Popson Park

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) responded to a vehicle and grass fire early Tuesday morning near the entrance to Popson Park.
On March 3, at 1:15 a.m., crews from three stations were dispatched to the area of University Drive and 10 Street West after reports of a vehicle fire spreading into a nearby field.
When firefighters arrived, they found a half-ton truck fully engulfed in flames, with a small section of stubble field also burning. Crews quickly brought the fire under control and prevented further spread.
Wet ground conditions helped limit the grass fire. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
LFES reminds residents to report any signs of fire immediately by calling 9-1-1. Early reporting allows crews to respond quickly and reduce the risk of fire spread.
