Final phase for 11 Street South watermain upgrade

A final touch of infrastructure TLC is ready to begin on 11 Street South.

A major watermain replacement is ready to enter its final stage. The work will close the 200 Block, between 2 Avenue and 3 Avenue South, beginning Monday, May 11. The intersection of 11 St. S. and 2 Ave. S will also close to traffic, with detours in place.

Pedestrian access to local businesses will stay open, so you can still visit your favourite spots while the work is underway.

There may be brief water service interruptions, especially during tie‑ins, but no prolonged outages are expected. If a planned interruption is needed, impacted properties will get at least 24 hours’ notice. These short pauses are part of upgrading the system, helping ensure stronger, more reliable service in the future.

Weather permitting, this extensive project should finish by June 22.
