Henderson Ice Centre scores big with new dressing rooms
The Henderson Ice Centre has taken a big step forward in its modernization journey. Phase one upgrades include four brand-new dressing rooms. Each room has private bathroom and shower facilities. The improvements make the Centre more functional, accessible and welcoming.

“We planned the work in phases to keep community programs running while tackling essential upgrades,” explains Jace Adams, Facilities Project Manager. “Phase one is a big win. These new rooms elevate the experience for athletes and set the tone for what’s next.”
Phase two of the project begins in spring 2026 and includes:
- relocating the front doors
- expanding the lobby
- renovating existing washrooms and dressing rooms
- updating the officials’ room
Together, these changes will bring the Henderson Ice Centre, originally built in 1975, into a more modern era.

“Inclusive, accessible spaces are key to a vibrant Lethbridge,” adds Robin Harper, GM of Recreation and Culture. “With phase one done and phase two coming up, we’re building a place where everyone can stay active, build connections and have fun.”
The full facelift should be completed in late summer of 2026. The renovations are part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program 2022–2031 (Project D-17). Find more project information and updates on the Get Involved Lethbridge page.
