LFES responds to two weekend fires

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to two unrelated fires this past weekend.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Friday, November 21, crews from three stations were called to a large outside fire in the 400 block of 10 Street North. The fire had spread to the exterior of a nearby building. Firefighters acted quickly to stop it from extending further into the structure. Damage is still being assessed, and the cause remains under investigation by Fire Prevention.
At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 23, crews from five stations responded to a garage fire in the 1600 block of 15 Avenue South. The fire spread from the garage to the home. Two residents were safely evacuated without injury. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties. Fire Prevention is investigating the cause and damage estimates are pending.
