Making moves on Pathway 17

A new south Lethbridge pathway is moving closer to completion!

Pathway 17 is a multi-use trail along 43 Street South and South Parkside Drive South. It’s designed to boost safety and improve connections across the city. Once complete, it will link existing pathways into a continuous loop, making it easier than ever to walk, bike and enjoy the outdoors in Lethbridge.

The next phase of construction involves road closures and detours, beginning Monday, October 20.

  • The intersection of 43 Street South and Forestry Avenue South will be closed
  • Drivers are encouraged to use 20 Avenue South (follow the posted detour signs)
  • Local traffic can access Forestry Avenue South from the west, at Cedar Road South

The intersection is expected to reopen on Saturday, November 1, weather permitting. However, due to additional curb work, southbound drivers on 43 Street South will not be able to turn west onto Forestry Avenue South. That turning lane is anticipated to open on Friday, November 7, also weather permitting.

Please slow down in construction zones and follow all posted signs.

While traffic may be disrupted for now, these upgrades will lead to a safer, more connected community for everyone.
