The City of Lethbridge is encouraging you to fill out your mandatory waste diversion report for 2025. Online reporting is free, simple and only takes five minutes to complete. Businesses only need to report:
- What kinds of waste their business generates
- If it gets sorted for recycling or composting
- How it gets collected
There are more than 2,900 businesses and organizations in Lethbridge. Big or small, for-profit or charitable, they must follow the Mandatory Recycling and Organics requirements in the City’s Waste Bylaw 6146.
Home businesses follow the regular residential waste and recycling rules and do not need to submit a report.
The industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) sector in Lethbridge makes up almost two-thirds of all landfilled waste each year. By submitting a report every year, ICI members can help reduce waste and divert more materials from the landfill.
