Multiple lane closures on Whoop-Up Drive

Two consecutive projects on Whoop-Up Drive will affect eastbound and westbound commuters. 

June 5 – Landscaping in median

Starting today, June 5, City of Lethbridge Parks staff will be mowing grass in the median along Whoop-Up Drive/6 Avenue South. The working area will span from 4 Street South to just east of the bridge deck. To give crews room to operate safely, the inner lanes of this area will be closed. 

This work should be completed by the end of the day, weather permitting. 

June 7 – Overhead sign maintenance 

On Saturday, June 7, there will be overhead sign inspections along Whoop-Up Drive. This includes the overhead signage at the University Drive West overpass and the ramp to Scenic Drive South. 

Intermittent lane closures will be in place for both eastbound and westbound traffic. 

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully and follow all posted signage to keep crews and other commuters safe.
