Proposals now being accepted for Bowman Building leases

The City of Lethbridge has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) to solicit proposals for not-for-profit organizations to lease the historic Bowman Building. A total of 11,300 available square feet includes offices, meeting rooms and flexible spaces, and can easily accommodate multiple organizations.

Located at 811 5 Avenue South, the Provincial Historic Resource is a significant asset in Lethbridge’s downtown and has a long history as an educational, vocational and community facility. It has been used primarily for ‘pop-up’ style events and short-term rentals since the mid-2000s.

While RFEOI applications from individual not-for-profit organizations are welcomed, applications from multiple tenants are preferred. This scenario would include a lead tenant acting as the property manager for the building.

This RFEOI is a competitive, two-stage process. Stage one includes two property tours and information sessions, hosted by the City, scheduled for March 20 at 3 p.m. and March 21 at 6 p.m. Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one tour and session. Stage one applications and supporting documents are due by Friday, March 29.

In stage two, short-listed applicants will be required to submit a full proposal no later than Friday, April 26. Members of City Administration will select the successful applicants and present their proposal to City Council for consideration of approval. It is anticipated that the successful organizations will sign a five-year lease with the City, with the possibility of an extension.

More information on this RFEOI, including estimated costs, can be found here and application forms can be found here.
