Quick response contains vehicle fires behind south Lethbridge business

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a vehicle fire behind a commercial property in the 1400 block of 2 Avenue South at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 25. 

Crews arrived to find two cargo vans fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters gained access by breaching a secure fence and quickly contained the fire to the vehicles involved, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. 

Nineteen firefighters from four stations responded. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $70,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
