Southbound Scenic Drive off-ramp to Whoop-Up Drive to be temporarily closed Friday morning

To accommodate large machinery moving concrete up the ramp expansion, the off-ramp from southbound Scenic Drive onto Whoop-Up Drive will be temporarily closed for a couple of hours on Friday, September 18.

The work, which is part of the ongoing Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive interchange project, will take place from 7 a.m. to approximately 9 a.m. Detours will be in place. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and follow all posted signage. 

The entire Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive interchange project is scheduled for completion in November 2026. Updates will be shared throughout construction. More information, including phase-by-phase design plans and timelines, is available on the Get Involved Lethbridge webpage.

Representatives for this overall project will be at the City Showcase event in the City Hall foyer on Monday, September 28, from 3 to 6 p.m. This is a free, drop-in event where residents can learn about City of Lethbridge plans, projects and progress directly from the people leading the work.
