Straight from the goat’s mouth

Hello, Lethbridge.

The rumours are true… we’re baaaaaaaack!

I’m Chewbacca. (Pronounced Chewbaaaaaaaaca in my world. OK, sorry, goat habits die hard.)

You might know my friends and I as the ‘Grazing Goats’. We prefer the term “Munching Maniacs’, but let’s not get bogged down in semantics.

I’m here with great news: we’ve returned for our eighth tour of duty in the Lethbridge River Valley! We’re here, we’re hungry and we’re ready to devour an entire menu of invasive weeds.

For the appetizer: wormwood.
The entrée: leafy spurge.
And for dessert: crunchy thistle.

You’ll find us at our favourite five-star dining spots:

  • Indian Battle Park
  • Alexander Wilderness Park
  • Pavan Park

We’re also pretty excited to try a brand-new spot this year – the Nature Reserve, just north of the train bridge. We’ve never been, but it gets excellent Goatgle reviews. We’ll be around until July 21, then return for a week in August to finish anything we may have missed.

Another one of our regular spots, Botterill Bottom Park, isn’t opening its doors to us this year. Something about bridge construction in the area? Construction noise isn’t great for us goats, it kills our dining vibe.

As always, we’ll bring our human with us. (He booked us the dining reservations, so it’s only fair he joins the party, I suppose.) We’ll also have our dog. The dog is cute, but also kind of intense. Some of us goats have been known to lose control at the sight of a leafy buffet, so the dog is there to make sure we stay on task. If you happen to come around our work area, you should probably give us and the dog a wide berth. We’re allowed to unwind (and digest) at camp in the evening hours, but the daytime is for work!

OK, I gotta goat. My lunch break is over, and the dog is glaring at me. See you in the river valley!
