Unplanned power outage affecting southside neighbourhoods

Update: November 10, 9:56 a.m.

Power has been restored to most neighbourhoods. High winds caused a large tree to fall onto a power pole.

A small area, between 18 to 19 Street and 7 to 9 Avenue South, is still out as crews work to clear debris, repair the pole and safely restore power.

An unplanned power outage is currently impacting a large area of south Lethbridge.

Crews are working to diagnose the cause of the outage and restore power to affected residents as soon as possible. 

If you are affected by this outage or driving through the affected area, please remember:  

• Garage doors will not work during a power outage. 
• Treat non-functioning traffic lights as four-way stops.
