Walking and cycling paths west of Oldman River still closed
The City of Lethbridge is reminding the public to avoid Bull Trail Park, south of Whoop-Up Drive, as work on an electric utility project continues.
Hundreds of metres of casing and conduits are laid out on the west side of the Oldman River. Due to limited space in the area, they need to cross Coal Banks Trail, paved pathways and offroad trails. They present a significant risk for pedestrians and cyclists who disregard signage and barricades.

Additionally, from today until October 26, crews will prepare the casing before it goes underground, through a process called pigging. It uses high pressure to push a device through the casing to clean it and inspect its condition. Pigging can pose a safety hazard to anyone who enters the construction site. Closures and access to the area will be strictly enforced.
The public is urged to avoid the area and follow all posted signage.
