Windrow assistance sign-up closes Friday

The City of Lethbridge is reminding snow route residents that Friday, October 10, is the final day to register for the Windrow Assistance Service (WAS).

This annual subscription-based service supports residents with accessibility and mobility challenges by removing snow windrows that form along curbs and driveways after plowing. If you live on a snow route and need assistance, call 311 before the end of the day Friday to sign up.

Annual registration is required, even for those who participated last year. When you call 311, staff will confirm eligibility and provide service details to ensure the program is a good fit for your household. Signing up before the deadline helps ensure the service is ready to go before snow begins to fall.

If you live on a snow route, it’s important to understand parking restrictions and stay informed when snow routes are declared. To avoid parking tickets and ensure your street is plowed, visit lethbridge.ca/snow and download the free Lethbridge Loop app to receive real-time notifications directly to your mobile device.

The WAS program was introduced as part of Phase 2 of the Snow and Ice Control Changes, helping balance cost savings with community needs. Following the 2025/26 winter season, feedback will be gathered from snow route residents and reported to City Council.
