5 Street South temporary lane and parking closures

As part of the Reimagine 5 Street South project, geotechnical testing will be taking place that may cause minor disruptions for users of 5 Street South, between 1 Avenue and 6 Avenue.

From Monday, July 7, to Wednesday, July 9, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., crews will be conducting geotechnical drilling (boreholes) at 11 locations along the corridor. This work will help inform future decisions and construction planning.

Each drill site will require temporary lane and/or parking closures to ensure the safety of both the public and crews. Parking restrictions will be implemented the night before each closure to prevent vehicles from being trapped within the work zones. Once drilling at each location is complete, parking will be reopened for public use.

Please be aware that this work may generate some additional noise. All operations will be conducted within permitted hours to comply with the noise bylaw.

We kindly ask all road users to follow posted traffic control signage and respect short-term no-parking notices to help crews complete the work efficiently and safely.
