All lanes of Whoop-Up Drive now open

Road repairs have been completed to westbound Whoop-Up Drive following a motor vehicle accident yesterday afternoon. All lanes have now re-opened and detours have been removed.

The City of Lethbridge thanks residents for their patience and understanding after what proved to be a challenging afternoon commute. Accidents on both Whoop-Up Drive and Crowsnest Trail caused significant delays and inconveniences for motorists. Additionally, thank you to all emergency services teams who responded to ensure everyone got home safely. 

In follow-up to this incident, the City has initiated a review of processes and operations to identify improvements and efficiencies. This review will inform changes that can be implemented in future events to minimize traffic disruption and improve traffic flow.
