Candidate list now official for 2025 Lethbridge Municipal and School Election

Lethbridge voters will start heading to the polls in just 15 days, with the voting period for the 2025 Lethbridge Municipal and School Election set to take place October 8-20. 

The candidate list is now official for the Election, which will be held to determine the following contests for a four-year term (October 2025-October 2029):   

• The City of Lethbridge’s Mayor and eight Councillors 
• Seven Trustees for the Lethbridge Public School Division
• Five Trustees for the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division Ward 2 

“We are pleased to share important information for the voters so they are informed when and where they go to vote at the voting stations including where and when to vote, information about the process including an information brochure and videos, and information on the candidates including the two-minutes candidate videos, and links to forums and meet and greets,” says City Clerk/Returning Officer Bonnie Hilford. 

Nomination deadline was Monday at noon, with prospective candidates having 24 hours to withdraw. The City will again produce the popular information videos for each candidate for voters to watch ahead of the Election. They are anticipated to be posted later this week. 

Our Lethbridge.ca/election website has all the information for voters, including the list of candidates, information on Election forums and meet and greets, as well as voter eligibility. Voting stations will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on October 8, 9, 10, 11 15, 16, 17, 18 and 20. 

A detailed Election brochure is now online. Due to current delivery disruptions with Canada Post, paper copies will be delivered to most Lethbridge residents via the Lethbridge Herald (including non-subscribers). Copies will also soon be available at various locations across the city.
