Celebrate Earth Day at Legacy Park!

The City of Lethbridge invites residents to come together and celebrate our environment and community this Earth Day! Join us on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Legacy Park. Activities will focus on fun, educational and action-packed ways to care for the planet.

Experts from the City of Lethbridge, Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Environment Lethbridge, Oldman Watershed Council and Lethbridge and District Horticultural Society will be available to share their knowledge.

Visitors can explore topics such as native pollinators, drought-resilient gardening, water-wise landscaping and protecting the Oldman River headwaters. There will also be information on the Adopt-A-Park program, gardening volunteer opportunities, Living Cities and Environmental Incentive Program rebates for low-flow toilets and rain barrels.

A variety of activities will be available throughout the day, including:

  • Community Litter Clean-Up – help beautify Legacy Park, all supplies provided
  • Lethbridge Taiko Drum Association – enjoy a live performance at 11 a.m. outside the pavilion
  • Verdant Quest – participate in the litter clean-up to earn your first badge
  • An Earth Day scavenger hunt
  • A chance to win a rain barrel
  • Copies of the brand-new Lethbridge Plays Kid’s Map
  • Free compost (bring your own container)

Come and celebrate our planet this Saturday at Legacy Park, 400 Blackwolf Boulevard North. To learn more about the event, visit lethbridge.ca/earthday.
