Adopt-A-Park Program

Looking for a volunteer opportunity that allows you to enjoy the outdoors and set your own schedule? Make a positive impact in your community with the Adopt-A-Park program!

Here's how you can get involved:

1. Adopt your favourite park, playground, shrub bed, green strip or cemetery. The impact of your work is profound and there is no minimum time commitment

Some common tasks are:

  • Weed control
  • Litter pickup
  • Spreading mulch
  • Checking for damage/vandalism
  • Shrub/flower bed maintenance

2. One-time litter cleanup. Choose your park and grab some friends or co-workers. These cleanups are a great team building activity for organizations or groups.

3. Neighbourhood cleanup. Get involved and take an active role in improving your neighbhourhood by organizing a community cleanup.

4. Stay informed, stay inspired! Subscribe to our Volunteer Newsletter to be the first to know about opportunities to make a difference in your community.

5. Volunteer in an upcoming community litter cleanup or local event!

Volunteer with us at the inaugural Run to Remember on September 29 at Mountain View Cemetery.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteer Check-In: Check in volunteers as they arrive, provide them with a safety vest.

Course Marshals: Work at positions along the course, ensuring runners are on the path, as well as cheering them on as they run by.

Refreshment Stations: Help hand out refreshments at the end of the race.

Start/Finish Line: Ensure participants are lined up for the correct race and hand out medals once they cross the finish line.

Most positions will start at 9:30 a.m. and finish at 11:30 a.m.

Email parksvolunteer@lethbridge.ca for more information or to volunteer.
