The Brewery Gardens celebrates the High Level Bridge which is the longest and highest trestle bridge in the world at 96 meters high and 1623 meters long. The Bridge was built in 1909, using 12,436 tonnes of steel, 328,000 rivets, and 7,600 gallons of paint.
The Gardens not only host beautiful seasonal garden displays but has one of the most scenic views in the city. The garden hosts many individual plants and waterfalls to add to the ambiance and beauty of the area. Visitors to the Brewery Gardens have a clear view of the High Level Bridge and the Number 8 Coal mine located across the river valley. Lethbridge’s time capsule is also housed nearby. The capsule was put in place as part of the City’s centennial celebrations in 1985 and was reopened in 2010 and is scheduled to be reopened in 2035 and 2085.
