Commercial structure fire in the river valley

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a commercial structure fire near the intersection of Highway 3 and 5 Avenue North at approximately 11:10 a.m. on July 6.

Employees noticed the fire and immediately called 9-1-1. When crews arrived, they found the building fully engulfed in flames and began a defensive fire attack to protect nearby structures and property. 

The building where the fire started was destroyed. Twenty-four firefighters from four stations successfully prevented the fire from spreading. 

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
