Get your splash on starting this Friday!

Get ready to spray, splash and smile!

With hotter temperatures on the horizon, the City of Lethbridge is ready to offer some cool support. Splash season kicks off on Friday, May 23, at 12 p.m.

Legacy Spray Park is the city’s biggest splash zone. Located in the north end of Legacy Park, it’s split into three fun-filled areas: one for tots, one for the whole family and another just for kids aged five to 12.

Over in Galt Gardens, the Rotary Centennial Fountain puts on a show of its own. Almost 100 jets dance in sync with music and lights, perfect for cooling off or just soaking in the spectacle.

Legacy Spray Park will be open from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. while Rotary will run from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. Hours may be adjusted based on community needs or changed due to weather conditions.

Gyro Spray Park will remain closed for most of the season. It will only open on days when the temperature is forecast to reach at least 30 degrees Celsius. The decision to open will be based on the Environment Canada forecast at 3 p.m. the day before.

Most of the water at Legacy and Rotary is cleaned and recycled. That is not the case at Gyro. With voluntary water restrictions still in effect, the limited hours at Gyro allow the City to continue doing its part to conserve water.

All local spray parks are free of charge. They’ll stay open through Labour Day long weekend in September… or as long as Mother Nature allows!
