Help update the London Road Area Redevelopment Plan
The City of Lethbridge’s Planning staff have analyzed London Road neighbourhood trends and put together proposed changes. Now, we want your feedback.

The London Road Area Redevelopment Plan (LRARP) was adopted by City Council in 2018 to guide planning and development decisions in the neighbourhood. Since then, it has shaped growth, design and community character.
In 2021, City Council adopted the Municipal Development Plan (MDP), Lethbridge’s highest-level land use plan. Because the current MDP did not exist when the LRARP was written, any updates must now align with its policies which include:
Supporting a range of housing types and increasing density appropriately in existing areas.
Encouraging small-scale, street-fronting commercial units in appropriate locations.
The LRARP also calls for a five-year review to ensure it reflects the community’s vision and priorities. Since 2018, the London Road neighbourhood has seen a net gain of only six homes. To address housing needs and align with the MDP, some LRARP policies may be adjusted to allow more opportunities for new homes in appropriate locations, while respecting the neighbourhood’s character. Updates could include revised maps or policy changes, guided by the Plan's vision and principles.
Whether you live in London Road, own a property or run a business, your input matters. Complete the online survey before December 10.
City Council will make final decisions through a public hearing, where anyone can speak. The hearing date will be advertised once set.
