Pets safely rescued from southside structure fire

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire

Firefighters safely rescued three pets from a southside home after responding to a structure fire in the 1200 block of 5 Avenue South at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 15. 

Crews from three stations entered the home and quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread beyond the room of origin. Their rapid response significantly reduced the damage and prevented the fire from extending through the rest of the structure. 

No one was home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $200,000. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
