Residential fire in south Lethbridge under investigation

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire

One person was taken to hospital following a residential structure fire in south Lethbridge Thursday evening. 

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) responded to the fire on February 12, at approximately 5:30 p.m., in the 2600 block of Scenic Drive South.  

Crews from three stations arrived to find a fire inside the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread beyond the room of origin, limiting damage.

LFES treated one person at the scene. The patient was transported to hospital for further assessment and care.

The fire caused significant damage, and the cause is under investigation. 

LFES reminds residents and property owners to test their smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries as needed. Working smoke alarms provide early warning and can save lives.
