Roses are red, violets are blue; summer jobs at the City are waiting for you!

Love is in the air and in the work that our people do every day to deliver the programs and services that make our community shine! Are you looking for a job that you’ll love? A job where you get to work outside, with awesome people, and the summer sun on your face? We are hiring!

Seasonal positions are the perfect opportunity for students looking to earn some money during their spring and summer break or for anyone looking to start a career with the City.

“Every spring, we look to hire approximately 50 labourers to join our public operations teams,” says Aurelie Lajus Jr., People & Culture Business Partner at the City of Lethbridge. “You get to work outside in the gorgeous weather with a team of great people, serving your community and helping to make Lethbridge a better place to live.”

Erin McIlwraith, Parks Operations Coordinator, started her journey in a summer position and over time worked into the position she holds today. “I loved the opportunity to work seasonally as I started my family; it allowed me to spend winters with my kids when they were young,” says McIlwraith. “I started with the City of Lethbridge Parks Department 20 years ago and fell in love with the experience of working outside. Parks are an integral part of our community, and helping create spaces for generations of people to enjoy is something I am so proud to be a part of.”

Summer jobs available at the City include positions in Parks & Cemeteries, Transportation, Water & Wastewater, Waste & Recycling, Arenas, and more!

Anyone wanting to apply must have:

  • A valid unrestricted Class 5 operator’s license with no more than 5 demerit points;
  • A current commercial driver’s abstract;
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Be able to work shifts and weekends as assigned.
