Southside house fire Friday afternoon

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house fire near 10 Street and 11 Avenue south at about 3:20 p.m. on Friday, October 13.

Upon arrival, fire crews saw smoke and flames coming from the front of the house, near the attached garage. Crews were quickly able to establish water supply and got the fire knocked down.

No injuries to the occupants or to firefighters was reported. Sadly, one pet succumbed to smoke inhalation.

Estimated damage is approximately $320,000 to $350,000.

The fire is still under investigation.
