Westbound lane closure on the Whoop-Up Drive bridge

Effective immediately, the outside westbound lane at the west end of the Whoop-Up Drive bridge is closed.

The closure is a precautionary measure following Wednesday’s early morning fire under the bridge. Engineers have determined the bridge remains safe for motorists. The lane closure allows a full assessment of the bridge to be completed. 

The speed limit remains at 70 km/h. Motorists are asked to please drive with care in the impacted area.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
