  • Weekly updates on southern Alberta reservoir levels

    The end of winter is mere weeks away and the mercury is climbing. With spring on the horizon, eyes are once again turning to southern Alberta reservoirs.

    The City of Lethbridge has resumed weekly reporting of water levels in the Oldman, St. Mary and Waterton reservoirs.

  • Fire crews contain porch fire at westside home

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire on Temple Crescent West shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 27. 

    Crews arrived to find a significant fire on the front porch, spreading toward the attic. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, preventing further damage to the home. 

  • River Valley fire ban in effect

    Effective immediately and until further notice, a fire ban is in place on all open fires within the City of Lethbridge’s River Valley. Current weather conditions, including warmer temperatures, low humidity and forecasted winds, significantly elevate the fire risk in the River Valley. 

  • Spring melt impacting water taste and odour, but not safety

    If you’re noticing an unusual taste or odour coming from your residential water outlets, don’t worry. It’s perfectly normal and necessary.

  • Help protect our wildlife, please don’t feed waterfowl

    As geese and ducks return from their winter migration, residents and visitors are asked to avoid providing them a ‘Welcome Back’ meal.

    The reminder comes after large piles of food, intended for geese and ducks, were recently discovered along the shore of Henderson Lake.

    Mother Nature’s recent change in temperature has closed all outdoor skating areas in Lethbridge, effective immediately.
