Extra, extra! Surplus City assets now available online!
When equipment, materials or other assets have finished their jobs, we want to extend their useful lives in ways that benefit our community.
That’s why the City of Lethbridge has launched lethbridge.ca/surplus, a new webpage for out-of-use assets seeking a fresh start.

Surplus items approved for donation will be posted for a minimum of four weeks. During that time, the public can review what’s available and submit a Statement of Capability to express their interest and intent.
Submissions should include:
- A brief overview of your organization
- Your experience managing similar assets
- Your ability to store, transport and care for the item
It should also describe how you plan to use the asset, its expected benefit and any partnerships or supporting resources involved.
If more than one organization submits interest for the same asset, the City will review all submissions before making any awards. Our goal is to ensure these items go to groups that can put them to meaningful and responsible use.
Donating surplus assets reduces waste, supports local and maximizes value. This process creates a fair, transparent and central place for organizations to discover available assets and find ways to repurpose them.
Curious what’s up for grabs? Check out the listing at lethbridge.ca/surplus.
