Pedestrian access at Scenic Drive, 4 Avenue South to be impacted

As part of the ongoing interchange improvement project, pedestrian access on the west side of Scenic Drive (adjacent to southbound vehicle traffic) and 4 Avenue South will face some temporary changes starting Tuesday, August 11.

As work for the Scenic Drive interchange project continues for Phases One, Two, Four and Five, pedestrians using this area will see some temporary crosswalk closures and re-directions. During this phase, pedestrians are encouraged to use the east side of Scenic Drive between 4 Avenue and 3 Avenue.

Southbound Scenic Drive in this area will continue to have two lanes open to traffic at this stage.

Signage will be in place throughout the area to guide pedestrians during this closure.

A reminder that pedestrian access to the Whoop-Up Drive pathway is also currently impacted.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in November 2026. Updates will be shared throughout construction. More information, including phase-by-phase design plans and timelines, is available on the Get Involved Lethbridge webpage.
