    The City of Lethbridge is leading by example in water conservation efforts. In response to potential drought conditions this year, the corporation is implementing internal water restrictions ahead of any mandated changes.

The City is working to proactively address these concerns with the development of the Water Conservation Plan and Strategy (WCPAS). The WCPAS was presented at the April 11 Economic and Finance Standing Policy Committee meeting.

    World Water Day

    The City of Lethbridge is joining municipalities worldwide in recognizing World Water Day. Beginning in 1993, the day is held on March 22 every year and focuses on the importance of freshwater. In an effort to highlight the importance of this resource, the City is updating residents on current water initiatives.

    Water Conservation Plan survey closes with record number of responses

    Lethbridge has spoken, and residents are fully tapped into local water conservation efforts.

    The Water Conservation Plan survey closed on February 7 with nearly 4,000 responses, an all-time high for the Get Involved Lethbridge website. The results show a high level of community engagement on an important topic.

    The City of Lethbridge is asking residents to pour their thoughts into the Water Conservation Plan Survey.

    The survey, running from January 23 – February 7, is collecting feedback on current water conservation efforts, ways to improve conservation and potential incentives the City may consider implementing.

    City Council approves proactive measures to address low water levels

    City Council has unanimously passed a resolution to continue proactive steps in addressing water supply concerns and implementing strategic solutions to combat water scarcity. The action is in response to persistent drought conditions in southern Alberta, resulting in below-normal levels in every reservoir.
