    City Council receives latest Encampment Strategy update

    Throughout the summer months, the City’s Encampment Response Team (ERT) has been busy responding to calls and providing outreach services for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. On Tuesday, Lethbridge City Council received the latest update on the City of Lethbridge’s Encampment Strategy – which recaps the June 14 to August 26 reporting period.

  • City taking action to remove environmentally damaging structures

    The City of Lethbridge is removing two unauthorized structures in the River Valley. One structure is in Botterill Bottom Park, the other is in the Lethbridge Nature Reserve. The removals come after environmental experts determined the structures are harming the environment.

    The City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge School Divisions are working together to improve transportation safety in school areas. Visibility of crosswalks near schools is important to ensure the safety of children walking to and from school or during drop-off and pick-up periods.

    Snow route residents facing mobility challenges can sign up for windrow assistance 

    While we’re still enjoying summer weather, residents who live on snow routes are asked to consider an optional service that will be piloted this winter. In the first two weeks of September, the City will hand-deliver postcards to each home along snow routes with more information about the new Snow Route Windrow Assistance Service. This new service is designed to help residents who face mobility challenges when navigating windrows. 

    Snow route residents are encouraged to learn about the service and if applicable, call 311 between September 16 -27 to register. The sign-up window is the only time residents can subscribe for the 2024/2025 winter season and no early sign-up will be available.
