As seven new vans hit the road, residents and transit users will notice a new look to Lethbridge Transit’s fleet.

As Electric Vehicles (EV) continue to increase in traffic volume, the need for charging stations has similarly risen. Recognizing this, the City of Lethbridge has recently installed 22 new EV charging stations at four strategic sites across the city. They are open to the public and available for use as of today.

In recent years, the city of Lethbridge has seen an increase in the number of individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as the number of those unsheltered. As additional shelter capacity could result in fewer unsheltered individuals, Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously in favour to approve a new Shelter Development Strategy.

The numbers have been tallied – and the official 2023 Municipal Census results show that Lethbridge has a population of 106,550. This marks an increase of 5,068 (up 4.99 per cent, or 1.25 per cent per year) from the 2019 Municipal Census. Lethbridge is the third-largest city in Alberta based on Municipal Census data.

In preparation for this year’s Reconciliation Week, the Reconciliation Lethbridge Advisory Committee is seeking local artists for a pop-up gallery.

From frequent users to first-time visitors, those heading to Lethbridge’s Oldman River Valley will soon benefit from a cohesive approach to how the trail system is mapped.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is on June 21 and to celebrate this occasion, there are events and activities planned by several organizations from around the city.
