    The City of Lethbridge is reminding businesses, organizations and institutions to submit their online annual waste reports by January 31.

  • Christmas Tree Collection Postponed due to weather

    Due to the extreme cold weather forecast, the City of Lethbridge in partnership with this year’s volunteer group, Senator Buchanan Elementary School, have made the decision to postpone the Christmas Tree Collection that was scheduled to start this Saturday. The collection will now take place the following weekend, Saturday, January 20, 2024.

  • Christmas Tree Collection

    For the past 30 years the City of Lethbridge and local youth groups have partnered to ensure that Christmas trees continue to give after the Holiday Season. Over 1.5 million kilograms or approximately 95,000 Christmas trees have been diverted from the landfill since the program began. This years collection will take place ​​January 13th, 2024.

    Monday, December 25 is Christmas Day.
    Tuesday, December 26 is Boxing Day.
    Monday, January 1 is New Year’s Day.

    The City of Lethbridge will have service level changes over the holiday season.

  • Volunteer Youth Group needed for this year's Christmas Tree Collection program

    FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY!

    The City of Lethbridge Waste Utility & Environment Department has for the last 25+ years offered the residents of Lethbridge a ‘Christmas Tree Recycling Program’. The Christmas Trees are picked up at each participating household and chipped into wood chips that are used in City parks. We would like to open up this fundraising opportunity to any interested youth groups in Lethbridge. In return for the delivery of the program, your youth group will receive $10,000 for the city-wide collection program.
