Road and Facility Closures

Starting early in the morning tomorrow, July 30, crews will be completing bridge work on the Scenic Drive North overpass above 5 Avenue North. 

As efforts for replacing the bridge coating system on Whoop-Up Drive are ongoing, work crews will be changing lanes under the bridge on Botterill Bottom Road starting on Wednesday. Alternating one‑way traffic, controlled by signal lights at each end, will not change but pylons will be moved to the opposite lane. 

Guardrail maintenance on University Drive West, between Walsh Drive/Heritage Boulevard and Bridge Drive, will temporarily impact traffic on Thursday, July 23.

Bridge maintenance on University Drive West will affect a small section of the roadway tomorrow.

We're entering phase five of the Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive Interchange Improvement project.

This phase includes brand-new streetlights to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians along this busy corridor.

The Whoop-Up Drive bridge recoating project is moving to a 24-hour schedule, meaning around the clock work to complete the massive infrastructure.

Starting the week of July 13, crews will begin installing permanent pavement markings on roads included in last year’s asphalt overlay program. 

The westbound lanes of 3 Avenue South will be closed between 20 Street and Mayor Magrath Drive South for a water main repair

The eastbound lanes on 6 Avenue South will be closed between 15 Street and 16 Street South for a sewer service repair.  

A busy stretch of road will close in north Lethbridge next week, as electrical crews perform underground work.
