The City of Lethbridge Cemeteries welcome your donation of a bench, trees or shrubs. These amenities enhance the use and enjoyment of the city cemeteries for all visitors.

Donated Granite Bench Specifications

All bench locations and styles must be approved by cemetery personnel before the application can be processed.

The purchaser of a granite bench to be placed in a City of Lethbridge Cemetery will be required to pay the City the current monument permit fee.

Once you have received permission to proceed, it will be your responsibility to make the arrangements with the monument company for installation and payment. To get a tax receipt from the city, provide us with a paid receipt from the monument company.

The purchaser or personal representative of the purchaser is liable and responsible for damages resulting from theft, vandalism or damage however caused to the bench, unless such damage is shown to be caused by negligence of the City or City employees.

Specifications for Granite Benches:

• Benches must be made of a Grade A granite, with the support frame a minimum of 4 inches and seat/back a minimum of 2 inches. Maximum Bench Size – 52”x24”
• Benches must be placed on a concrete pad. The concrete pad must be at least 6 inches larger on all sides, of the bench from most outer edge of the bench. Maximum Size of Concrete Pad – 64”x36”x minimum 5 inches thick.

A monument permit form is required prior to installation of the bench.
