Road and Facility Closures

  • Pothole repair season is heating up

    When temperatures rise, road crews can begin repairing potholes with hot asphalt. On a priority system, crews have been filling potholes around the city since mid-April and will continue to do so until next winter.  

  • Lane closures on 6 Avenue South

    An emergency sewer issue is resulting in lane closures in the 1800 block of 6 Avenue South.

  • Snow Routes Declared Active

    The City of Lethbridge has declared snow routes to be active by 4 pm tomorrow, March 23, 2024 and parking restrictions come into effect. 

    Due to significant snow accumulation and forecast predictions, special measures are being taken to ensure our main roadways are in reasonable winter driving conditions. Residents of snow routes and other motorists may be impacted by: additional equipment on the roads Saturday night and windrows expected Sunday morning. 

  • Road Closure Barrier
    Road Closure on 23 Street North from 26 Avenue to Meadowlark Boulevard

    Starting today Friday, March 15, 23 Street North from 26 Avenue to Meadowlark Boulevard will be closed in both directions due to a sewer service repair. This closure is expected to last until at least Monday, March 18.

     

  • Road Closure Barrier
    Road Closure - 1200 block of 5 Avenue North

    Residents and motorists are advised that the eastbound lanes of 5 Avenue North are closed between 12C Street and 13 Street North to complete an emergency watermain repair.

  • Snow Routes No Longer Active, On-Street Parking Can Resume

    Snow routes are no longer active and on-street parking can resume along these roadways.

    The City of Lethbridge thanks all affected residences and snow route users for their cooperation.

  • Road Closure in 200 block of 28 Street South

    There will be a road closure on 28 Street South beginning Wednesday, January 24 so crews can install a new storm service.

  • Keep Lethbridge on the move; be part of the snow-lution

    Snow routes have been activated in response to heavy snow accumulation and more snowfall is in the forecast. As the community adjusts to the new service level and snow clearing is top-of-mind, the City of Lethbridge is sharing a few timely reminders: 

  • City Hall reopening Tuesday morning

    Required repairs at City Hall are nearing completion and clean-up will occur throughout the evening with the building set to reopen to staff and public first thing Tuesday morning.

  • Immediate closure of City Hall

    Due to a sanitary line leak at City Hall, the water service has been shut off, and the building has been closed to staff and public.
