Construction on the Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive Interchange Improvement is moving into its next phase on July 8. Work shifts to the 400 block of Scenic Drive South.
Due to asphalt paving construction, 4 Avenue South, from 34 Street South to WT Hill Boulevard South, will be closed from 6 p.m. June 30 until the morning of July 2.
The second phase of a major traffic project begins next week.
On Tuesday, June 30, the Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive Interchange Improvement will shift to the Scenic Drive South on-ramp, from westbound 6 Avenue South.
Access to businesses will not be impacted but, starting Monday, June 22, some warranty repair work will briefly affect some sidewalk access and the adjacent bike lanes on 4 Avenue South and 7 Street South.
Work is kicking off to expand the Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive interchange. The project includes additional driving lanes, better signals and crossings and a new multi-use path.
Starting Tuesday at 9 a.m., the inside eastbound lane of Scenic Drive South, near the Country Club Road, will be closed to allow access for crews to complete a sewer main repair.
The turning bay from northbound Scenic Drive South onto 16 Avenue South will be closed starting today to allow access for crews making sidewalk improvements.
