  • Council approves next four-year operating budget

    ​Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt the Economic Standing Policy Committee's recommendations to amend the City of Lethbridge's 2023-2026 Operating Budget.

    With its approval, the 2023-2026 average annual change in municipal tax rate is 5.1 per cent for each of the next four years. This is equal to a $129.93 per year per single family house, based on an average market value of $285,800.

  • Skate Park renamed to honour late Councillor Wade Galloway

    Skateboarders, inline skaters, BMX and scooter riders will soon be shredding at the Wade Galloway Skate Park as City Council approved a new multi-year sponsorship deal with the Wade Galloway Foundation. The site, formally known as the SLP Skate Park, was a passion project for Galloway as he advocated for, and raised money towards, the construction of the facility.

  • Council’s 2023 meeting calendar set

    At its annual Organizational Meeting on Tuesday, Council voted to adopt the 2023 Council and Standing Policy Committee (SPC) meeting calendar and to confirm administration appointments to Boards, Commissions and Committees.

    ​The section of 4 Avenue South between Stafford Drive and 11 Street will be temporarily renamed Veterans Avenue for the week leading up to Remembrance Day.

  • Council receives update on potential future third vehicle bridge

    ​Residents may recall they were asked a non-binding ballot question, during last October's Municipal Election, about if building a third vehicular traffic bridge in Lethbridge should become a municipal capital project priority.

    On Tuesday, Lethbridge City Council voted unanimously to accept an Administration Submission on the Third Bridge River Crossing Review as information.

  • Oliver Block designated as Municipal Historic Resource

    ​Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to designate a new Municipal Historic Resource. The two-story Oliver Block, located at 316 5 Street South, will become the latest addition to the City of Lethbridge's Heritage Register. 

  • Council approves Exhibition Way as new road name

    ​In conjunction with a new addressing strategy for the Lethbridge and District Exhibition, the southeast section of roadway Parkside Drive South will soon be re-named Exhibition Way South.
