  • Council approves Land Use Bylaw changes for housing projects

    Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday approved second and third readings of several Land Use Amendment Bylaws and Area Redevelopment Plan Amendments for four different proposed housing projects on the city’s southside.

  • Council approves updated Animal Care and Control Bylaw

    The City’s bylaws for all things paws and claws is getting a modernization.

    During its January 21 meeting, City Council approved the Animal Care and Control Bylaw. Bylaw 6475 replaces: the Dog Control Bylaw, the Wild or Domestic Animals Bylaw and the Pigeon Bylaw. The new bylaw comes into effect May 1, 2025.

  • Council approves Election Bylaw, including changes due to Bill 20

    As Lethbridge residents prepare to head to the polls in October, they should be aware of several changes coming for the 2025 Election – most notably that results will be delayed. Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday approved second and third readings of the Election Bylaw, including regulated updates in relation to the Provincial Government’s Bill 20.

To those new to reading this: I write this monthly feature on behalf of Lethbridge City Council to keep people informed on matters of importance in the community, as well as to highlight achievements by members of our community. Amid the challenges we face in Lethbridge, I also really try to use this space to focus on the positive pieces and the good news stories we have in the wonderful city we all call home.

  • City Council seeks applicants for Subdivision and Development Appeal Board

    The City of Lethbridge is looking for residents to join the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB), one of the many Boards, Committees and Commissions (BCC) that exist to make our city a better place. Applications will be open from January 2 to February 28, 2025.

    Those interested in putting their name forward as nominees for the 2025 Municipal and School Elections can now access online resources to help them with this process.
