  • Whoop-Up Days 2025 parade set for Tuesday

    The 2025 edition of Whoop-Up Days will officially begin with the traditional parade on Tuesday, August 19. Starting at 9 a.m. from Park Place Shopping Centre, the parade will proceed south on 3 Street South, east along 3 Avenue South out of the downtown area, turn north along 13 Street and then east along 9 Avenue North, ending at Galbraith Elementary School.

  • River Valley fire ban in effect

    Effective immediately and until further notice, a fire ban is in place on all open fires within the City of Lethbridge’s River Valley. 

  • Heavy load trucks temporarily restricted on westbound Whoop-Up Drive

    Effective immediately, heavy load trucks (excluding standard pickups) are temporarily restricted from crossing westbound on Whoop-Up Drive. All heavy load trucks must use Highway 3. The restriction is being made out of an abundance of caution.

  • Fire damages northside fourplex unit

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house fire in the 500 block of 9 Avenue North on Saturday, August 9. 

  • Help reimagine the future for 5 Street South

    The City of Lethbridge is in the early stages of planning improvements to 5 Street South, between 1 Avenue South and 6 Avenue South. Known for its historic charm and vibrant local businesses, this downtown corridor is ready to be reimagined — and we want your input!

  • Paving toward a new pathway

    A fresh new route is coming to south Lethbridge!

    Construction is moving forward on Pathway 17. The multi-use trail will run along 43 Street South and South Parkside Drive South. Construction begins on Monday, August 11, and includes traffic disruptions and detours.

  • Scenic Drive North lane rehabilitation

    Paved lane rehabilitation work this weekend will impact commuters on a stretch of Scenic Drive North. 

  • City's annual intersection and concrete improvement program continues next week

    A number of intersections and roadways in Lethbridge are set for safety, mobility and efficiency upgrades this summer. More details regarding intersection improvements to each area can be found on the project webpage.

  • Stafford Drive North bridge work

    Maintenance work is set to take place this week on the Stafford Drive overpass above Crowsnest Trail, weather permitting.
