Road and Facility Closures

The Whoop-Up Drive bridge recoating project is moving to a 24-hour schedule, meaning around the clock work to complete the massive infrastructure.

Starting the week of July 13, crews will begin installing permanent pavement markings on roads included in last year’s asphalt overlay program. 

The westbound lanes of 3 Avenue South will be closed between 20 Street and Mayor Magrath Drive South for a water main repair

The eastbound lanes on 6 Avenue South will be closed between 15 Street and 16 Street South for a sewer service repair.  

A busy stretch of road will close in north Lethbridge next week, as electrical crews perform underground work.

On Sunday, July 12, the southbound lanes of University Drive West, between Walsh Drive and Bridge Drive, will be closed. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the northbound lanes. 

Ongoing work under Whoop-Up Drive will see a westbound lane closure this weekend.

Lethbridge is set to come alive with the sound of revving engines this weekend as beloved Street Wheelers events return. While motorists should be aware of upcoming road closures, there’s plenty to see in this celebration of classic cars and community spirit.  

Construction on the Whoop-Up Drive/Scenic Drive Interchange Improvement is moving into its next phase on July 8. Work shifts to the 400 block of Scenic Drive South.

Due to asphalt paving construction, 4 Avenue South, from 34 Street South to WT Hill Boulevard South, will be closed from 6 p.m. June 30 until the morning of July 2.
