    Highlights and decisions from the July 28, 2026, meeting of Lethbridge City Council.

  • Work continues under Whoop-Up Drive

    As efforts for replacing the bridge coating system on Whoop-Up Drive are ongoing, work crews will be changing lanes under the bridge on Botterill Bottom Road starting on Wednesday. Alternating one‑way traffic, controlled by signal lights at each end, will not change but pylons will be moved to the opposite lane. 

  • Quick response limits damage from commercial structure fire

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a commercial structure fire in the 1400 block of 2 Avenue South at approximately 1 p.m. on July 27. 

  • Temporary pathway closure over Crowsnest Trail
  • Intersection improvement program continues tomorrow

    Key mobility, safety and efficiency upgrades are coming to an intersection near you! 

  • Guardrail work to impact traffic on University Drive

    Guardrail maintenance on University Drive West, between Walsh Drive/Heritage Boulevard and Bridge Drive, will temporarily impact traffic on Thursday, July 23.

  • North Lethbridge garage fire contained

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a garage fire in the 2100 Block of 17 Street North at approximately 3:50 p.m. on July 20. 

  • University Drive lane closures

    Bridge maintenance on University Drive West will affect a small section of the roadway tomorrow.

  • River safety reminders
    Water safety reminders

    In recognition of National Drowning Prevention Week (July 19-25, 2026), Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) is reminding residents and visitors to be safe near water. To help everyone reduce risks while enjoying the Oldman River, or any other water body, LFES has compiled important reminders and tips to keep your family and friends safe. 

  • Parking kiosks downtown remain down

    Due to a server error at the host site, paid parking kiosks downtown and the Flowbird app remain down. The kiosks and app are not accepting payments; therefore, ticketing violations have been cancelled for today.
