Reconciliation Lethbridge Advisory Committee (RLAC) and the City of Lethbridge are proud to launch the 2024 Orange Shirt Day Design Contest starting June 21, 2024. This contest invites local Indigenous artists to show their commitment to Reconciliation by creating an original design to be featured on this year’s orange shirts.

The City of Lethbridge invites the community to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD) on Friday, June 21 with a day of events and entertainment.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a fire at the 3000 block of 5 Avenue South at approximately 6:48 a.m. on Saturday, June 15.

Effectively immediately, the River Valley Fire Ban in Lethbridge has been lifted. Recent changes in weather conditions, including rainfall and higher humidity levels, have significantly reduced the fire risk in this area. 

Road improvement work continues along northbound University Drive West. Paving will begin the morning of Monday, June 17. The project stretches between McGill Boulevard and the Valley Road ramp.

The Assets & Infrastructure Standing Policy Committee will be considering the amendment to the Piers Outline Plan. The updated plan relocates the stormwater facility and maintains the residential land use in various densities to meet current demands.

To accommodate the second annual Lethbridge Block Party on Saturday, June 15, the following road closures will be in effect starting at 7 a.m. that day: 6 Street South between 3 Avenue and 4 Avenue; 3 Avenue South between 5 Street and 7 Street; and 4 Avenue South between 6 Street and 7 Street.
